A native of Rochester, NY, Alison Wahl graduated summa cum laude from Amherst College with degrees in Music Composition and German Literature, where she was awarded the Eric Edward Sundquist Prize and the Consulate General Prize. Alison was the winner of the 2011 Chicago Council Student Auditions of the National Association of Teachers of Singing. She has performed in Illinois Mainstage productions (Gretel in Hansel and Gretel), in the Illinois Opera Studio program (Lola in Gallantry), with Prairie Fire Theatre (Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance; Gianetta in The Gondoliers) and with Music of the Baroque and VOX 3 Collective in Chicago. In the summer of 2010, Alison performed as a Studio Artist with Opera North. She recently received a Masters of Music with Honors from Northwestern University, where she was awarded the Eckstein Scholarship, and where she most recently appeared as Pamina in The Magic Flute, La Musique in Les Arts Florissants and The First Gossip in Ghosts of Versailles. She currently studies with Pamela Hinchman and Richard Boldrey. Alison is also an accomplished singer-songwriter, and plays coffeehouses and open mic nights in the Chicago and Rochester areas.
