Soprano Kimberly Gunderson began her musical studies at age 7 in her hometown of Dubuque, IA. The daughter of a two music teachers, her early years were spent studying ballet, piano, trumpet, horn, string bass and voice. In 2002, she moved to Chicago to study with Judith Haddon at the Chicago College of Performing Arts. Kimberly has performed the roles of Jenny Diver in The Beggar’s Opera, Peep-bo in The Mikado, Charlotte in the Chicago premiere of Ronald Perera’s opera, The Yellow Wallpaper and has also appeared in productions of La Bohème, New Moon, and Pirates of Penzance and VOX 3’s jukebox opera, night/music. This fall, she will also sing in the Florentine Opera’s production of Turandot. Kimberly co-founded and performs in the chamber ensemble Mode; she also currently sings with the Chicago Symphony Chorus and VOX 3 Collective. She has also enjoyed recent performances with the Grant Park Chorus, Skylight Opera Theatre, William Ferris Chorale, Music by the Lake, and the Bel Canto Chorus of Milwaukee. Kimberly currently resides in Chicago and studies with Jo Rodenburg.
