Recently turned soprano, Rachel Fry holds a Master of Music from the Chicago College of Performing Arts (CCPA) and a Bachelor of Music from Texas Lutheran University.  While at CCPA, she performed the roles of Mrs. Grose in Britten's The Turn of the Screw and the Mezzo in Argento's Postcard from Morocco.  She also understudied Sleep (The Fairy Queen) and Lisetta (Il Mondo della Luna) with Chicago Opera Theater.  She currently teaches at Aurora University and is the Alto soloist at the Chicago Temple (First United Methodist).  Rachel premiered composer Evan Kuchar’s new work, “laid in earth” at the 2009 Chicago AIDS Quilt Songbook.  Other engagements have included a residency with Jake Heggie at Texas Lutheran University and a recital celebrating the relationships between women at the Chicago Temple.  A longtime member of VOX 3 Collective, Rachel now lives and works in New York City.
