VOX 3 goes beyond simply offering performances of vocal works. The members of the group are committed to deepening audience appreciation of music through several educational endeavors. VOX 3 develops interesting and challenging programs of non-standard repertoire, publishes an online program journal of original essays on the works performed, and engages prominent authorities on music or poetry to give pre-concert lectures.
We educate our members as well by inviting experienced coaches and teachers to polish our performances, especially in dealing with unfamiliar styles. Focusing on education and serious dramaturgy helps us to inform our audience about the history, theory, poetry, and passion of vocal music. And all of this helps to build understanding of—and indeed a future for—art music.
