Curtain Up on Chicago Opera Initiative

This evening, several VOX 3 Collective members will be appearing in “A Night of American Opera,” a collection of scenes by nine celebrated composers from the United States.  The performances on Friday, November 1 @ 7:00pm and Saturday, November 2 @ 8:00pm, both in the Pilsen neighborhood at Calles y Sueños, 1900 South Carpenter, Chicago, represent the first outings for Chicago Opera Initiative.  Associate Member soprano Jenny Schuler and Emerging Artist baritone Peter Ruger will be singing, along with tenor Jonathan Weyant, who will be appearing in the upcoming performances of Nielsen’s Maskarade with VOX 3 Collective.  Tickets ($15) for “A Night of American Opera” presented by Chicago Opera Initiative are available at:

Chicago Opera Initiative is proud to present a wide sampling of American opera scenes in its Debut performance. American composers have written some of the most stirring, heart wrenching and beautiful works in opera. With moments that range from hilariously absurd to deeply heartbreaking, this performance is a fantastic sampling of opera for all music lovers.
