Mexican-American soprano and Chicago native Angela Zúñiga began learning piano at the age of nine and fell in love with singing while pursuing her Bachelor of Music Education at Northeastern Illinois University. After two years of teaching general music and choir with Chicago Public Schools, Angela will begin her graduate studies this fall at DePaul School of Music in pursuit of a Master of Music in Vocal Performance. Angela has recently appeared as a Studio Artist at Angels Vocal Art in Los Angeles, California performing scenes from Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte as Pamina, Delibes’ Lakmé in the title role, J. Strauss’ Die Fledermaus as Adele, as well as a program of Spanish music in De España al Nuevo Mundo: Songs from Spain and the New World. Previously she appeared in Northwestern’s Vocal Career Seminar in scenes from Rigoletto as Gilda and Der Rosenkavalier as Sophie. Zúñiga is also passionate about music ministry and is currently a soprano section leader at Saints Faith, Hope, and Charity Parish in Winnetka, IL. The 2016-17 season marks Angela’s third year with VOX 3 Collective.
