April Salerno

Mezzo-soprano April Salerno completed her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance at the Baldwin-Wallace College Conservatory of Music in Cleveland, where she performed the role of Maurya in Vaughan Williams’s Riders to the Sea. She began her graduate studies at the Peabody Conservatory, where she was featured in the role of Mother in the Peabody Opera Outreach production of Hansel & Gretel, and in a master class taught by Kathy Kelly of the Metropolitan Opera. April returned to Cleveland to complete her Master of Music in Vocal Performance at Cleveland State University, where her soli choral performances included Mozart’s Requiem and Beethoven’s Mass in C. While in Cleveland, April was a member of the Cleveland Opera Chorus performing in twelve productions, including Faust, Eugene Onegin, and Turandot as some of her favorites. She was also regularly featured as a soloist at the Messiah Lutheran Church of Fairview Park and at the Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple in Beachwood.
