Laura Pinto

Known for her thoughtful performances in a wide range of styles, soprano Laura Pinto has been featured with such respected ensembles and presenters as The Newberry Consort, Haymarket Opera Company, The Theatre of Early Music, Early Music at the Barn, The Chicago Arts Orchestra, and Montreal’s MusiMars contemporary music festival. In addition to her recent performance of Adele/Die Fledermaus with Sugar Creek Opera, roles have included Poppea/Agrippina, Gretel/Hänsel und Gretel, Le Rossignol/L’enfant et les sortileges, #1/Transformations, and Lauretta/Gianni Schicchi, for which she was hailed as “literally a showstopper” (Classical Voice of North Carolina). Ms. Pinto’s concert performances have included the soli in Messiah (Handel), Mass in C Minor (Mozart), Mass in G (Schubert), Gloria (Poulenc), Laud to the Nativity (Respighi), as well as several world premieres and an enthusiastically received recital tour of 17th-century monody with viola da gambist David Ellis.
