Tenor Dennis Kalup has been a member of VOX 3 Collective since 2013. A native of the East Coast, he cut his teeth singing in Philadelphia and NYC before relocating to Chicago. A fan of early music and modern music alike, he enjoys performing and little known works. Most recently he was featured as Uncle 1 in the Chicago premiere of the Rootabaga Stories with Thompson Street Opera Company. He has sung with numerous groups in the area, including Light Opera Works, the Gilbert and Sullivan Opera of Hyde Park, the Savoyaires, the Aestas Consort, and Cantate, in addition to his work with VOX. Equally at ease with concert repertoire, he has been the featured soloist in Haydn’s Creation, J.S. Bach’s Magnificat and St. John’s Passion, Mozart’s Requiem, and Orff’s Carmina Burana. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Voice from Penn State University and his Master of Music from Temple University.
