Tenor Brian Hoffman is from Carpentersville, Illinois. He completed his Bachelor of Music degree at the Chicago College of Performing Arts, where he studied with Myron Myers and Michael Best. Mr. Hoffman’s comic and vocal talents were featured on the operatic stage in his portrayal of the servant Arv in the Chicago premiere of Nielsen’s Maskarade. He also performed the Male Chorus in Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia and as Count Perrucchetto in Cimarosa’s L’infedeltà fedele with the Millennium Chamber Players. Other operatic roles include The Snowman in A Childhood Miracle, Don Curzio in Le nozze di Figaro, Federico in L’amico Fritz. Additional area productions include The Pirates of Penzance, Dido and Aeneas, Sweeney Todd, The Mikado, and Pal Joey. Brian also recently played the title role in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Lamar in Godspell, Man 3 in the Sondheim revue Putting it Together, and Henry in The Fantasticks with the Three-Sided Players. He has also sung for several seasons in the Grant Park Chorus Apprentice Chorale and the William Ferris Chorale. He also recently performed the tenor solo in Orff’s Carmina Burana and scenes from Argento’s Postcard from Morocco as the Man with Old Luggage. Brian is a founding member of VOX 3 Collective. He plans on attending graduate school to continue his vocal studies.
